SENIOR HAPPENINGS

By Senior Center Director Tammy Jackman

First of all, I need to apologize for not having an article for the month of July. I was very sick and didn’t spend much time in the office for a couple of weeks. I am on the mend and will hopefully be right back on track.

We have finished the remodel in the food pantry and almost finished the bathroom and office area. We welcome you to drop by and check it out. The center is becoming homier by the day. We have a few more puzzles and pictures to hang yet.

Our June trip was to Pompey’s Pillar and the Bob Watts Murals in Forsyth. Pompey’s Pillar was beautiful and the interpretive center was amazing. Four of us climbed all the way to the top and we were able to get a real feel for the expedition and get some amazing pictures. The Bob Watts Murals were something to behold. Many of the murals are on buildings in the town but the ones in his museum were done on Styrofoam with a ton of colors and textures.

A group of ladies went to Poker Jim Lookout on July 7th to watch Shakespeare in the Park again this year. They presented The Three Musketeers and in my opinion it was better than last year. The weather was beautiful; we took a pitch in supper and enjoyed the evening. We were planning a trip to Deadwood this month but due to some conflict with doctoring we will have to postpone it until a later date.

We will be having our stitching and lunch on August 1st, 15th and 29th. We would love to have some new ladies join us. Bunco will be on the 22nd and ladies lunch out at Seabeck Pizza on the 17th.

Our August trip will be to the Water Works Gallery and Range Rider’s Museum in Miles City on the 24th. Please let Tammy know if you would like to join the trip.

I want to give a big shout out to everyone who donated to the Senior Center in June and July: Phillip Habeck a box of beef, Carter Family donated protein shakes, Liz Riter and Joyce Benge donated food pantry items, Tammy Van Tine donated water, Lori Dinstel and Delaney Ruland donated eggs and Terry and Sherry Considine donated beef. We appreciate all of our donors and we thank you so much for thinking of us.
