Fire personnel from the Miles City BLM Field Office will be conducting prescribed fire operations in the "Wild Horse Project" -- about 35 miles SE of Miles City, or around 7 miles northeast of Volborg.

Approximately 3,000 acres are scheduled for treatment under this project, and burning may extend into the first days of October.

The BLM frequently employs prescribed burning to reduce fire fuels, lower numbers of ponderosa and juniper, and to reinvigorate grasses and forbs. For more info call the Miles City Field Office at 406-233-2800.
