Hawk Football played in their final game of the season on Saturday, as they made the trip west to the banks of the Tongue River to play St. Labre.

With only nine players left on the roster due to injury, the Hawks were left with little room for error. St. Labre was in the same boat, with only nine players suited up as well, according to Broadus Head Coach Brett Emmons.

"Our boys had a challenging 1st quarter, as St. Labre was tougher than the team thought going into the game," Emmons commented.

Broadus was able to score two touchdowns in the first quarter, missing a two point conversion. Meanwhile St. Labre scored a touchdown to make the score 14-6.

In the second quarter Broadus was able to pull ahead, putting up 30 unanswered points, and scored another 14 in the third quarter, to win the game 58-6.

Emmons was able to spread the ball around to different receivers and runners, as five Hawks scored on passing touchdowns and another five scored either touchdowns or two point conversions on the ground.

Jayce Schroeder threw for a season high 181 yards and four touchdowns in the win, while Landen Capp had 110 receiving yards. Logan Capp had 65 rushing yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, Broadus had four interceptions.

"It was a good game to end the season," Emmons noted.

The Hawks finish their season short of playoff contention, with Forsyth winning the conference and hosting a playoff game October 28th.

Four seniors will graduate this season – Landen Capp, Riggin Schaffer, James Augare, and Kolton Williams. Emmons wished the boys luck in their future endeavors, commenting that the seniors were an integral part of the team.

Next summer Emmons plans to hold a football camp in Broadus, while also traveling with the team to other camps.

Emmons looked forward to next year: "We plan on working together over the summer, and will look to see improvement next year as we learn to play together as a team."
