Broadus High School music students entertained a crowd with the Fall Music Showcase last Tuesday. Performances included:
HSKT Brass Ensemble: "There Is a Tavern In the Town" by Traditional. Group members include: James Augare, Logan Capp, Kaytlin Fairbank,Reuben Kinzer, Maggie Mader, Laney Williams, and Jackson Knapp.
Zoe Page-vocal solo: "Never Enough" (from The Greatest Showman) by Pasek & Paul.
Kensi Emmons-flute solo: "In the Stars" arranged by Wesley Steenbergen.
Collin Weatherell-vocal solo: "Sam" by Sturgill Simpson, accompanied by Laney Williams on guitar and Justin Aye on drums.
Maggie Mader-trumpet solo: "You Raise Me Up" by Lovland & Graham.
HS Choir: "Over the Rainbow" arranged by Audrey Snyder, "Pictures of Fall" by Emerson & Jackson, and "Sourwood Mountain" arranged by Ruth Elaine Schram.
Kaytlin Fairbank-cello solo: "Ladyfingers" arranged by Harry Nicholson, accompanied by Jackson Knapp on drums.
Shelby Anderson-vocal solo: "My Heart Will Go On" by Jennings & Horner.
The Jazz Band performed "Holy Habanero" by Beach & Shutack, and featured Zach Jones & Archer Edwards, as well as "Current Occupant" by Beach & Shutack featuring Archer Edwards.
Justin Aye-flute solo: "Eye is on the Sparrow" arranged by Jack Schrader.
Aspen Alderman-vocal solo: "Dancing in the Sky" by Nelson, Nelson & Traub.
Saucy Saxes Ensemble "Sassy Salsa" by Jon Bubbett. Group members include Becca Aye, Talyn Conley, Archer Edwards, Zach Jones, Riley Mitchell, Ashton Madsen, Jackson Knapp, Zoe Page, and Aiden Roberts.
The Fair Maidens-vocal trio: "Colors of the Wind" arranged by Mac Huff. Group members include: Shelby Anderson, Aspen Alderman, Laney Williams, and accompanied by Justin Aye on drums.
The Pep Band played "Frankenstein" arranged by Paul Murtha and "Start Me Up" arranged by James Sochinski. That performance featured Archer Edwards.
"Mick Jagger" made a surprise appearance during the last song with his very 80's dance moves.
HS Choir members include: Juniors Aspen Alderman,and Shelby Anderson; and Freshmen Justin Aye,Collin Weatherell, and Laney Williams.
HS Band members include: Seniors James Augare; Becca Aye, Talyn Conley, Archer Edwards,
Zach Jones, Jackson Knapp, Riley Mitchell, and Zoe Page; Sophomores: Kensi Emmons,
Kaytlin Fairbank, Reuben Kinzer, Maggie Mader, Aiden Roberts; and Freshmen: Logan Capp, Ashton Madsen, and Laney Williams.
In true BHS Music Department fashion, the enjoyment factor tipped the scales for the night.
We would like to thank Mr. Jerry Strobel for taking the time to come help us with our new sound system and taking care of the sound during the concert. Appreciation abounds to the parent's, staff and community who support the students in the music department.
