Thomas Oylear, a Senior at PRCDHS ran a 5K run at the Nike Cross Country Regional race in Boise, Idaho over the weekend. The invitational race puts the best High School XC runners from multiple states up against one another.

Runners were invited from Montana, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, Idaho, Hawaii, and Alaska. The top five runners move on to compete at Nationals.

Thomas raced against a field of 1,476 and placed 18th overall, running a 16:18.2 across the 5K distance, and averaging 5:14 per mile.

Oylear plans on continuing to race in the future – with track coming up in the spring, and hopefully in college in coming years.
