On Tuesday, February 6th, eight Broadus Junior High students traveled to Savage to complete in the 2024 MathCounts competition. MathCounts provides engaging math programs to US middle school students of all ability levels, in order to build confidence and improve attitudes about math and problem solving.

Along with students from Culbertson, Savage, Plentywood, Lustre Christian, and Glasgow, Broadus students completed 2 individual tests and one team test.

This year's participants from Broadus were 8th graders; Lucas Capp, Whitney Hartman, Emelyn Harper, Brock Gali, and Christian Oylear, and 7th grade participants; Reece Emmons, Karlee Emmons, and Addison Harper.

Although none of the Broadus students or team advanced to the state competition, students still scored well. Placing in the top 12 were Lucas Capp(3rd), Brock Gali(8th), and Whitney Hartman(11th). The Broadus team placed 4th out of 7 teams. Mr. Myers and Ms. Billings are very proud of their students and thank them for their hard work and participation.
