Melinda Traub

Melinda Traub, age 77, of Broadus passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024 following a vehicle accident in Nevada.

Melinda A. Traub, was born Melinda A. Wright in Oroville, California to Alfred E. (Mike) Wright and Joy E. Thrapp Wright. She was born in Oroville on July 11, 1946. She was later joined by two brothers, Mike and Pat. She said school was not easy as her dad worked for California PG&E and they had to move alot. She did graduate from Oroville High School in May of 1964.

She attended nurse's training for a short while, then decided to get married. She married a military man, Bill Krigbaum. Three sons were born to this union. They lived at several military bases in the United States, serving two tours in Germany which she really enjoyed. They divorced in the 80's.

So, off to her next adventure, Alaska! She lived there approximately 18 years and loved it. She worked as a jail guard at King Cove and worked for the State of Alaska in family and child abuse. She was married to a mean police officer for a short time. When that ended she moved back to California and worked in a western shop at Shasta Livestock until the owner retired.

Then onto her next adventure, a ranch in Montana. She had never seen one or been on one. It wasn't long and she was a top hand. She loved it here, taking care of her girls!

Everything Melinda did, be it driving the Al Can or crossing the USA on four-wheeler checking pipelines, it was all and adventure for her! Her awesome smile and laugh will most definitely be missed.

Melinda is survived by two sons Andrew and family in Maine and Patrick and family in South Carolina; husband Raymond Traub of Broadus; stepsons Evan Traub of Broadus and Travis (Erin) Traub of Sheridan, Wyoming; one brother Pat in Oregon and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Mike and middle son Ronnie.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. No services are being planned according to Melinda's wishes. Cremation is taking place. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: http://www.stevensonandsons.com.
