July 7, 2020

No meeting was held.

August 4, 2020

Councilperson Pete Wenzel, Councilperson Wanda Smith, Councilperson Lori Turnbough, Councilperson Cody Morris, Public Works Raymond Ragsdale, and Clerk Peggy Fruit were present.

Following the Pledge of Allegiance, Councilperson Turnbough moved to approve minutes as presented by Clerk Fruit. Councilperson Smith seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Councilperson Turnbough moved to close Wilbur Avenue at south end of the arena to the Community Center for fair. Councilperson Smith seconded the motion. Motion carried. Closure will be August 5th through August 8th; the Town will supply signs.

Public Works Ragsdale reported the pump for the lagoon will be here tomorrow; PW Ragsdale will be gone for water/waste water CEC; putting in headgate at the 1st lagoon cell with walkway to get to it.

Preliminary Budget hearing will be at September 8, 2020 Council meeting.

Claims were reviewed and approved by Council.

With no further business before the Council, Councilperson Turnbough moved to adjourn. Councilperson Smith seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 6:30 pm.

September 8, 2020

Mayor Lyman Amsden, Councilperson Pete Wenzel, Councilperson Wanda Smith, Councilperson Lori Turnbough, Councilperson Cody Morris, Public Works Raymond Ragsdale, Public Works Cassidy Zimmer, and Clerk Peggy Fruit were present.

Following the Pledge of Allegiance, Clerk Fruit announced the Preliminary Budget 2020-2021 will be held September 22, 2020 at 6:00 pm at the Broadus Town office. Notices will be posted of the meeting.

Public Works Zimmer stated it was a good patching season and he was able to use all the cold mix; he is starting to chip seal and has some mechanical items to work on.

Public Works Ragsdale reported the lagoon project is operational, engineer inspected and completed; will be able to monitor the lagoon from public work operator phones. One headgate has been installed and have a couple more to install. There is an individual whom wants to connect to the Town’s water system in Crane Acres. Council recommends that more research be done prior any decisions being made.

Clerk Fruit and Public Works Ragsdale reported on the inquiries from individuals wanting to open a marijuana retail store in Broadus. We currently have no regulations on the books for this topic and are waiting to see what the legislature sets.

Claims were reviewed and approved by Council.

With no further business before the Council, Councilperson Wenzel moved to adjourn. Councilperson Turnbough seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 7:00 pm.

Preliminary 2020-2021 Budget Hearing

September 22, 2020

Councilperson Pete Wenzel, Councilperson Wanda Smith, Councilperson Cody Morris, Public Works Raymond Ragsdale, and Clerk Peggy Fruit were present.

Meeting was called to order to discuss the Preliminary 2020-2021 Budget; no one appeared to speak for or against the Preliminary 2020-2021 budget. Budget hearing was closed at 6:35 p.m.

Councilperson Wenzel moved to approve 2020-2021 Budget as submitted by Clerk Fruit. Councilperson Morris seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Councilperson Wenzel moved to approve the following Resolutions as submitted by Clerk Fruit:

2020-01 Resolution for assessment of costs for street light maintenance; 2020-02 Resolution for assessment of costs for street maintenance; 2020-03 Resolution for 2020-2021 Budget Mill levied; 2020-04 Resolution stating wages for town employees during 2020-2021 budget; 2020-05 Resolution providing for the purchase of materials from the State of Montana Department of Transportation; 2020-06 Resolution requesting distribution of bridge and road safety and accountability program funds. Councilperson Morris seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.

No meetings were held during November 2020 and December 2020 due to COVID (employees positive and quarantine).

No meeting was held in January 2021.
