A. Montgomery sells store to three local parties

A. Montgomery, a pioneer in the general mercantile business of Broadus, having established himself here five years ago in partnership with Chas. W. Miles when Broadus consisted of a post office, two road ranches and another general merchandise store owned by G.A. Trautman, on Monday of this week, sold his store to three local parties, D.R. Finch, R.T. Blenkner and J.O. Washington who have applied for corporation papers under the firm name of the Broadus Cash Store.

With the consummation of this business deal, the two stores, formerly known as A. Montgomery and the Broadus Cash Store effected a consolidation, with the stock of groceries removed from the Peterson building to the Montgomery store. R. T. Blenkner becomes general manager of the new corporation.

Mr. Montgomery dissolved partnership with C.W. Miles two years ago when he purchased the building and stock from Mrs. G.A. Trautman and son Fred, and moved the store to its present location. He has oil and land interests in the vicinity of Forsyth, and with his wife will remove there in the near future.

Mr. Montgomery has other interests in Broadus which will keep him interested in the welfare and growth of this community. In the case of Mr. and Mrs. Montgomery their loss to Broadus will be for the gain of the locality in which they become residents. However, the latch string of Broadus will ever be waiting for them.
