Junior High Track competed in their toughest meet on May 1 in Miles City. There were 28 teams present, which gave our small squad a taste of what competition at a high level looks like! Alivia Landa placed 5th in the 200m and Reuben Kinzer took 5th place in the High Jump.

The season ended on May 7th with a smaller meet in Colstrip. For 8th grade, Zach Jones placed 4th in the 100m, 5th in the 800, 6th in Shotput, 4th in Discus and 5th in High Jump. Emory Gatlin placed 4th in the 100, and 4th in Long Jump. Finally, Rebekah Rasmussen placed 3rd in the 800m, and 5th in Long Jump.

For 7th grade, Reuben Kinzer placed 3rd in the 800m, 2nd in the 1600, 4th in Shotput, and 7th in High Jump. Alivia Landa placed 2nd in the 100m, 2nd in the 200m, and 4th in Long Jump. Addison Draine placed 14th in the 100m, and 9th in the 100m Hurdles, and 14th in Long Jump. Peyton Simmons took 14th in Shotput, and 7th in Discus. Kayleigh Opstedahl placed 1st in the 100m Hurdles and 3rd in the 200m Hurdles. The relay team of Emory, Rebekah, Addison, and Alivia took 2nd place.

Although the season was short and we fought a lot of inclement weather, it sure was enjoyable to watch these young athletes compete and grow in their knowledge of Track and Field.
