October 27, 2022

Gloria Jean (Preston) Patrick, 75, passed away Monday, October 17, 2022 in her home.

Gloria was born January 5, 1947 in Miles City, Montana to Kenneth and Alvera Preston. Gloria spent many summers at the Irion family ranch in Olive, Montana working at her Aunt and Uncle's drive-in. Gloria married Ralph Alan Patrick on February 5, 1966 and they moved to Colorado three months after their wedding.

Gloria became an IBM wife, which meant moving to several interesting places with many opportunities and new friends at every stop.

Gloria's time with Ralph was cut short due to cancer but she didn't let that stop her. Gloria finished raising her two daughters, making sure to set them off on a good path. Gloria started a bridge group for other widowers and made lifelong friends. She was even able to travel over the years with this group of friends. Gloria worked for the St. Vrain Valley school district for 25 years but was happy to retire and spend time with her family, play bridge and travel with friends and family.

Gloria's true love was her family. Gloria has two daughters, Rachelle Hall and Roxanne Wedan. Rachelle is married to Curtis and they have two sons, Patrick and Preston. Roxanne is married to Quentin and they have one son, Grant. Gloria truly loved being a mom and a grandma.

Gloria had a green thumb when it came to growing roses and indoor plants. She could turn a simple houseplant into a tree.

Gloria was a very generous person. Not only to her own family but also to her friends, neighbors and even the occasional stranger. Gloria also had many organizations that were close to her heart, including, Tiny Tim and Wounded Warriors.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Patrick, her parents, Kenneth and Alvera Preston. She is survived by her daughters, Rachelle Hall (Curtis), Roxanne Wedan (Quentin) and her 3 grandsons, Patrick, Preston and Grant as well as her brother Gary Preston (Bev), and her sister in law Sheila Howe (Gary) and her nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 5th, at 1:00 pm at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Home, 503 Terry Street, Longmont, CO 80501.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to The Tiny Tim Learning Center or The Wounded Warrior Project.
